"Fronted by Angie Pepper, The Passengers featured the Visitors Bass player Steve Harris on keyboards and Jim Dickson formerly of the Survivors on bass. Incorporating an early 60's Girl Group vibe into the standard late 70's Sydney influences. (covers ran from the Shangri-Las' Remember (Walking In The Sand)to the Standells' Riot On Sunset Strip, The Passengers measured up well to the Blondie comparisons and their posthumous single "Face With No Name"was the first release on Phantom. Angie went on to front her own group(with her by then husband, Deniz Tek in '81." - David Lang from "Do The Pop" Shock Records DTP1976 |

Angie Pepper proved herself to be a singer of considerable power and conviction, and on the male-dominated independent guitar scene of the early 1980's she commanded respect from all concerned..... - Ian McFarlane "Born Out Of Time" Raven Records RVCD136 |

"Another set of Radio Birdman fans to make the successful transition from audience to stage was the Passengers. Lead by guitarist and songwriter Jeff Sullivan and featuring singer Angie Pepper, the Passengers co-opted the sounds of 60's garage, girl-group and bubblegum into their own dynamic garage pop sound. Their one and only single featured two fantastic Sullivan-penned tracks, "Face With No Name and Girlfriend's Boyfriend (Phantom, April 1980). Released posthumously, the tracks showed enormous promise from a band that broke up before its time.... - Tim Pittman "Tales From The Australian Underground Singles 1976-1989" |
